Mobile network connectivity for an IP phone system.
TG Series connects a mobile network to a VoIP network in both directions. It is used for mobile trunking, as an alternative where fixed-line or SIP connectivity is limited, and as a fallback path when a fixed service fails.
Channel count is the main decision.
Channel count should be set against the concurrent mobile call requirement, not the total call volume.
TG100
Single channel, providing mobile network access for softswitches and IP PBXs.
TG200
Two channels, supporting two-way communication between VoIP and the mobile network.
TG400
Four channels, aimed at small and medium businesses with heavy call volumes to mobile numbers.
TG800
Eight channels, with least-cost routing across SIM cards.
TG1600
Sixteen channels, for mobile trunking, fixed-line alternative and business continuity use.
What the range does.
The feature set is consistent across the models. Channel count and the network technology the site can actually use are what decide the specification.
- Links a phone system to a mobile network in both directions
- Routes calls across SIM cards, including least-cost selection on the larger models
- Sends and receives SMS through the web interface, including bulk SMS
- Works as a backup path when the fixed network is unavailable
- Web-based management interface
- Compatible with a broad range of IP PBX and softswitch platforms
Australian network availability is the first check.
Yeastar’s source material describes this range as GSM/3G/4G. In Australia, 2G networks closed years ago and Telstra and Optus switched off 3G from 28 October 2024, with TPG Telecom earlier. Only 4G LTE with VoLTE is viable here, which narrows the range considerably: TG100 does not support 4G LTE at all, and only V3 hardware carrying an LTE module supports VoLTE, on firmware that enables it. VoLTE then has to be enabled per mobile trunk, and some deployments need the network type forced to 4G rather than left on automatic. Confirm hardware version, module and firmware with TeraFi before ordering.
Check coverage and network capability before the design depends on it.
Bring TeraFi the site, the concurrent call requirement and the carrier position. We will confirm whether a mobile gateway is the right answer.
Fact-checked on 22 September 2026 against the Yeastar TG Series product description and datasheet, and against published Australian 3G closure dates. Gateways are a transition and connectivity component, not an end state. Treat legacy connectivity as a documented dependency with an owner and an exit plan. Model, module and carrier voice support must be confirmed before order.
